Bell & Ross drops the BR 5, an integrated-band beauty

With the BR 5, Bell & Ross is treading into some new territory. In what looks like the future of high-end watch design, this aviator looks like a cross between a Royal Oak and a Bulgari Octo.

The watch is “urban” themed which suggests a move away from the traditional air and sea themes to which previous models hewed. I think the real value here is in the unified, seamless design and the big, bold face that many already consider a B&R staple.

What watch is available online for a surprisingly tame $4,900. The piece doesn’t quite have enough bells and whistles for me but I could definitely see a GMT or chrono version on my wrist sometime soon.
