The PWR Collective has started pre-orders of their new chronograph collection, the Journey Ascent. The broad strokes are, sapphire, stainless steel, and a nice case shape that echos IWC among others.
What of the detail? Let’s start with why I was attracted to it: the case shape. It’s not unlike the iwc ingenieur. The bezel has five holes on an iwc, and here you get a bonus, for a total of six.
The lugs are sharply angled and look great. The center link on an iwc extends down, and here it’s cut back to make room for the end link of the bracelet or silicone strap.
The dial is black with three subdials (3-6-9 positions) ringed in white, and a date window at 4. The PWR brand is signed at the top and a PWR collective brand symbol is applied as a marker at the 12 position.
The hands are sort of a classic sword hand, and they case size is 42mm wide by 11.8mm thick. It’s a little larger than I might personally like, and I think it’d look great with more sporty hands and dial, but it’s pretty great. It’s a available on silicone or stainless steel straps, and comes in stainless, rose gold with black dial, rose gold with navy dial, stainless steel with navy or black dial. The silicone straps are available in white or black, and have a raised center to match the center links of a bracelet. The case shape appeals to me and the silicone seems nice, too. The PWR Collective Journey Ascent watches range from 266 USD to 287 USD and are available for preorder from PWRcollective.com or kickstarter.com
