After several successful collaborations, Todd Snyder and Timex are at it again. Only this time, instead of a retro-military inspired piece, they’ve gone with a more contemporary diver look.
Now, I say “diver look†because with only 30 meters of water resistance, this is certainly not a true diver. Nonetheless, it looks great, and it’s priced at well under two hundred bucks. Offered in either a white dial with stainless case or black dial with black PVD case, the M1 certainly plays its part well. According to Snyder, it’s a “…contemporary original fusing signature elements from several classic watches with a forward-facing attitude.â€Â
The white dial features a stainless, rotating bezel while the black dial version gets a black bezel. The handset is clean and simple and the day and date sit at 3 o’clock. At 41mm the case size is just about right, and the 20mm nylon strap evokes memories of everyone’s favorite British spy, James Bond. And of course, a Timex just wouldn’t be a Timex without the signature Indiglo light show.
The M1 Maritime Sport Watch will set you back $158 and is available direct from toddsnyder.com.
