Welcome to our fourth installment of Watching the Web for 2015, where we here at WWR point out watch related articles across the interwebs that we find interesting, as well as highlighting a couple of our more popular posts over the last week.
OK, it is not the end of the month, but I though I would bring out this month’s crowd funding wrap-up early so there is still time to back the projects before they close. Myself, I tend to favor projects listed on Kickstarter, and have purchased a number of them, but there are alternative sites, most notably Indiegogo. In addition to the projects below, I have longer reviews of the Zelos Abyss, running through January 28; the Cobra de Calibre Chronograph el Grande, running through January 31; The Manchester Watch Works Tatoskok, running through February 16; and the Elliot Havok, funding on March 7.

It has been a while since we pointed you toward a sale over at Touch of Modern (join here is you are not already a member), but if you are in the market for a watch or any other cool stuff, you should regularly check the site out. The sale that intrigued me today was on WebBem Watches, quartz watches with paracord straps for your adventurous weekends.
Christopher Ward gets a fair bit of love here at WWR, mainly because they produce high quality, attractive watches at affordable price points. Now in their 10th year, the company is updating their line of dive watches, the Christopher Ward Trident Collection. The new collection offers four choices of movements, along with a number of other improvements and two case sizes.
We do not often review, or even write about, women’s watches here on WWR all that often. Yes, there have been some exceptions, but when you are a guy, writing about something not targeted at you is a tricky thing to do. Past that, it often times seems that a brand will simply take an existing model, shrink it some, and slap some gems and hearts on it, and call it a day – which seems lazy to me. On the other hand, the Frederic Jouvenot Surya puts those gems to a rather clever use.
We first brought you word of the new brand Boxer Watches back in 2012, when we did a hands-on review of the Zeus (LINK; verify it was a review). A few years on, and they are back with their second model. As with the Zeus, they have gone with a skeletonized movement, this time in a squared-off case. I first saw the Cobra de Calibre brand when the creator, John Lee, introduced his cushion cased first watch on Kickstarter. At the time, I really liked the style, but I had recently purchased something else, and didn’t have the cash. Then he brought out his bronze twin crown, which I liked a lot, but passed on because of another purchase. Now, he has a third watch on Kickstarter, the Cobra de Calibre Chronograph el Grande, and I will let you guess what is going through my head.
