Romain Jerome Moon Dust

A grail watch, the thing that dreams are made of.  We all have them, well out of our price range watches to aspire to… one day.  Touch of Modern (a private, limited time sale site, free to join) is running couple of sales right now (various brands, Breitling) on several drool worthy watches, with prices reduced (at least for me) from the stratosphere to the mere upper atmosphere.  Maybe, just maybe, a 60% or so price drop will entice someone to pull a trigger.

Graham Silverstone Stowe Automatic ChronographNow, if I am selecting a watch out of this group, I am taking the Romain Jerome Moon Dust DNA (top).  For whatever reason, I really like the aesthetic of this brand, and the Moon Dust DNA speaks to me on so many levels.  First off, it has moon dust as part of the face material.  The watch itself is a map of an Apollo landing sight, and a wee bit of the Apollo 11 spacecraft is also incorporated.  The list on this watch is $15,700, so the sale price of $5,749 (plus tax and $10 shipping) represents quite a bargain.  Another cool option is the Graham Silverstone Stowe Automatic Chronograph (above) marked down to $4,449 from $9,100.  In addition to these two watches, the first sale (which ends on September 16 at noon Pacific) includes other watches by Romain Jerome and Graham, as well as Avenue of the Americas, Zenith, Ulysse Nardin, Hamilton (sold out), Girard Perregaux, Greald Genta, deLaCour (sold out), Frank Muller, Azimuth, Glycine, Cuervo y Sobrinos, and Perrelet.

Breitling NavtimerThe second sale going on, which runs a day longer to September 17 at noon Pacific, is all Breitling.  The least expensive watch is the Superocean at $1,899 (list $3,230), while the most expensive is the Navtimer Chronograph (sold out) marked down from $11,510 to $6,499 (and sold out at the moment).   My pick is a slightly less expensive Navtimer chronograph, which was sold out with a price of $4,299.  Also happening on the site is a sale on vintage Omega watches, but you have to hurry, since this sale ends Saturday, September 13 at noon Pacific.
