It’s Sunday, which means that it’s time (at least, for this week) for the Watch Video Rewind. In this series, of course, we highlight some interesting videos that we’ve run across on the web that we think you might enjoy seeing.
Welcome back to our weekly installment, Watching the Web, where we have a quick look at some interesting watches and articles that have popped up over the last week, as well as taking a second look at what some of our more popular articles this week were. Today, we’ve got a potential new challenger to the Valjoux 7750, an infographic on James Bond’s watches, and a new set of watches with USA on the dial. After those, we’ll highlight (as usual) some of our more popular posts from the last week. Read on to see what we’ve got in store for you.
Once again, it’s time that those of us in the US of A commemorate the birth of our country with barbecue, beverages, and good ol’ blowing stuff up (aka fireworks). Since it’s a holiday a good chunk of us are observing, there’s really no watch post for today.
It’s not uncommon for there to be great anticipation when a new product is announced, and then we anxiously wait for it to actually hit the market. The watch industry is certainly not immune to this effect, and there’s been one mechanical watch that has been generating a lot of buzz over the past months – the Swatch Sistem51.
If you’re in the market for a new watch, the Lum-Tec 4th of July Sale is probable of interest – 15% off just about everything.
The other day I wrote about 2 new smart watches that are driven by a single purpose, one to give you the score for your favorite soccer team, and the other to help you track your fitness. Today’s watch goes in the other direction, a connected device that has the goal of being a complete interface with your smart phone. The Moment Smartwatch is more of a full screen smart bracelet that interacts with your phone, and also tells the time.
Yes, yes, I know we just announced a new giveaway today (one that’s apropos for the approaching holiday, of course), but we do need to announce the winner of last month’s contest as well!
Since it’s July, and the 4th is just around the corner, we thought it would be great if we could get an American watch in the mix. Thing of it is, there aren’t a lot of American watch manufacturers these days, especially ones who could turn something around for us at short notice. Then, we remembered our pals over at Smith & Bradley.
