Now, the previous models I reviewed were all analog display models. Â Of course, those analog displays really played with colors and shapes, rather than relying on the more traditional hands. Â With this Saturn, they’ve taken a step back towards a more traditional display, but it still has a unique twist.
For starters, we’ve got an always-on LCD display with two circular tracks – the outer one indicates the hours, and the inner one indicates the minutes. Â From the images I’ve seen, this really looks like it would be an easy watch to read at a glance; of course, if you want to know the precise time you could start counting the segments.
Where this watch shines (pun fully intended) is with the EL backlight – it keeps things readable, and I’m digging how the Ziiiro logo lights up as well. Â The backlight is triggered with a simple pusher located at the 2 o’clock position on the case. Â The case itself is made of stainless steel, and is available in three finishes (black, chrome, or gunmetal), and sits on a 24mm mesh bracelet.
While the watch isn’t available just yet, you can pre-order it over at Watchismo for $229 with the watches shipping sometime in December.  If you’re a mechanical-only sort of person, this watch of course isn’t for you.  If you’re willing to pay a little bit of a premium for some unique design in your timepiece, then the Saturn is worth a look.
