If you know me you know that I love this new Gallet Chronograph but I also love this helpful infographic complete with about 500 arrows, seventy labels, and a paragraph of text. This thing has a rattrapante chrono (split seconds), a timezone bezel, and big date and looks like a cross between a Jaeger-LeCoultre and a watch one of the Thunderbirds would wear.
Here’s the bad news:
Stainless steel – $19,500 (normal retail: $32,500)
18k yellow gold – $39,900 (normal retail: $66,500)
18k white gold – $41,250 (normal retail: $68,750)
18k red gold – $42,750 (normal retail: $71,250)
950 platinum – $89,700 (normal retail: $149,500)
However, these guys are giving some of the proceeds to the NAWCC, one of my favorite unknown organizations, so I guess $19,500 is fine. See – this is how philanthropy is done: you offer a watch as a special deal with a worthy cause, everyone gets helped, and it doesn’t look like rich people patting other rich people on the back. Anyway, if I find a spare $19,500 lying around I’ll pick one up. You?
