Rado has some nice styling, but I think this Dynamic-alike they’re releasing in congunction with the Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup is a bit gimpy. Looks like a quartz piece as well. Read on for the rest of the release.

Swiss watch brand Rado is the official timekeeper and Premier Partner to the Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup 2006, to be held November 12 – 19 at the Qizhong Tennis Centre, noted for its remarkable design. A limited and individually-numbered edition of the Rado Original celebrates the occasion.

A prominent sponsor and the leading official timekeeper in international tennis for more than 20 years, Rado needs no introduction to the world of professional tennis. Synonymous with precision timing in its products and on the courts, the Swiss watch brand will serve as official timekeeper at the Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup 2006, which takes place from November 12-19, 2006.

The Shanghai Masters is an exclusive tournament restricted to the world’s top eight players in men’s professional tennis. As official timekeeper, Rado provides timing and scorekeeping services throughout the tournament, and guarantees the precision and reliability of results. The displays and now- familiar Rado corner clocks ensure that spectators around the world can follow the progress of the competition with ease, noting service speeds throughout the course of each match.

The Shanghai Masters will be held at the Qizhong Tennis Centre, an innovative structure noted for its unique design. Celebrating unique design and world-class performance, Rado has created a new The Original, featuring the official Shanghai Masters colours, blue and yellow, and the words SHANGHAI MASTERS CUP on the dial. Its distinctive colours and sporting look evoke the masters at the height of their game; an automatic movement, flowing lines and hardmetal surfaces ensure precision and enduring beauty in a contemporary design. The Rado Original Shanghai TMC is limited to 650 individually numbered pieces.

  1. I’ve got one of these, bought it about 3 months ago. Really, a great watch. Absolutely solid. The sapphire crystal is very uneque. The dial on my watch is ash black. The watch gets quite a bit of attention.

Another thing to add is that it has an ETA automatic movement. Only the chronograph are quartz.

  2. Wow! Very nice! It is nice to know that Rado has been sponsoring a number of major and international tennis events for quite some time now. I hope they continue supporting tennis so that the game will be much grander as time goes by. Enjoyed reading this. Thanks for this post.

  3. Rado has been trying to make a statement in the tennis world for a while. I won a couple tennis tournaments in Europe where I received a Rado whatch as part of the price. Pretty cool, this was at least 7-8 years ago, so it has been a while since Rado is in the tennis scene.
This new Rado’s are very cool, and a very reliable brand.
