The July 2019 WWR Giveaway: The Zomo Annals

Well, the year is now officially half over. So, it seems fitting that this month’s giveaway will be for a watch that has a (maybe loosely) calendar-associated name. So, let’s have a talk about the Zomo Annals that you have a chance to win this month.

I think the title of our review of the Zomo Annals summed things up very tidily – champagne tastes on a soda water budget. IE, you get the delightful fizzy bubbles, but at a significant savings. This is because the Zomo Annals looks rather like the Franck Muller Long Island collection. Even if you don’t know quite what that’s all about, your eye will of course pick up on the rectangular tonneau case, along with the bold (almost whimsical) numerals over the top of the textured dial. It’s definitely a dressier piece, and at a retail price of $152 this is an easy way to pick up another watch for those occasions where your Orange Monster just doesn’t fit in.

If you’d like to win this very watch, you’ve got the same simple steps that we’ve got each month:

  1. Comment below with what your favorite “budget watch inspired by a luxury watch” would be
  2. Head on over to the giveaway widget and complete your entry

Be sure to do both steps to complete your entry, otherwise it will not count. Good luck to you, and our thanks for Zomo for sponsoring the giveaway!

Editor’s Note: Asute observers will note that we did try to giveaway this watch before, but that winner never claimed it, so it’s gone back into the prize pool

  1. Aulta Surf watches tend to have a Bauhaus feel to them, with a Nomos Neomatik in mind. They are quartz and thus affordable.

  2. 1. I like the Lum Tec M Series for those of us who can’t afford a Panerai.

    2. The Citizen BJ6501-28A looks like one of the Bauhaus brands (Junghans/Nomos) did a collab with Timex, and I mean that in a good way.

  3. First came to my mind Citizen (some models), but then again, it is unfair to them, they have number of unique watches, they have solar powered watches. Best guess would be one of those cheap copies from China?

  4. I enjoy quite a few Orient models. The Orient “oyster day-date” is the “inspired by a more expensive” watch that I have come closest to buying.

  5. I can’t say I really have a favorite, but one of my very first watches was an inexpensive Fossil that I loved because it LOOKED like an older, classier watch, complete with a beveled crystal.
