While we here at WWR are all about the affordable end of the spectrum, there are certain watches that we like to write about that are firmly in the luxury end of the spectrum, and today’s watch is definitely one of those.  Why is that?  Well, I have seemingly always had a thing for watches that utilize carbon fiber, especially when it shows up on spots other than the dial.  So, when the news came out about the Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon, I just knew I would be talking about it.

When it comes to chronographs that wear their size on your sleeve without any shame, you certainly could not overlook Graham and their Chronofighter lineup.  The one thing you have to watch out for, especially when you get into larger watches, is the fact that a bigger case generally means more weight.  Then again, if you go with something like the Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon, then that is less of a concern.

That is because the weight of the 47mm watch comes in at under 100g (the exact number hasn’t been released, but we’ll call it 100 for now).  This is accomplished not just by a carbon fiber dial and trigger (which we have seen before), but also by utilizing CF on the bezel, and in the case itself via a carbon composite.  While the CF weave is certainly the most recognizable pattern, the case is the bigger story here for me.  We have been seeing carbon used in cases more and more, and for good reason.

Along with the lighter weight the Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon is touting, the use of carbon brings along a good bit of strength, all while giving a rather nice matte finish to things, offsetting the shinier look of the bezel.  Frankly, if you are going to be wearing a watch from the Chronofighter lineup, your wrist is already going to be garnering attention just due to the size of the watch.  Might as well lighten the load and get some interesting patterns along for the ride as well!  graham1695.com
